AN INTRODUCTION.... In 1953 I am born in West Brabant in the Netherlands and now I live in Roosendaal. I discovered photography and nature only a few years ago, but it stole my heart at the same moment. It all started on July 9th, 2004: On one of our walks in the Dutch nature I photographed a flower. When I was home I wanted to know the name of that flower and after some investigations on internet and in books I found it's name: Fireweed. That was the start of a fascinating and informative hobby: DISCOVERING AND PHOTOGRAPHING THE FLORA AND FAUNA OF THE NETHERLANDS In the meantime lots of walks followed and every time we came home with pictures from discovered plants. It´s nice to find a plant I don´t know yet, somewhere besides a field or at the side of a road. It often surprises me how beautiful plants are, which are known as weeds. While searching and photographing flowers you automatically find fungi and, not to forget, insects and butterflies. Each one with it´s own beauty. In short the Dutch flora and fauna is worth to be photographed! See for yourself and enjoy what the Dutch nature is offering you!
